Privacy & visitor statistics

Optional visitor statistics

With your permission, ESL Essentials uses Google Analytics to understand visits, popular pages, device and browser types, approximate location and engagement. Google receives information from your browser, including your IP address, when the Analytics service is used. Analytics cookies distinguish visits; we set their expiry to six months. We do not enable Google advertising signals or advertising personalisation.

Google Analytics is not loaded until you choose Allow statistics. Declining does not prevent access to resources or games. Your preference is stored in this browser for six months. Use Privacy settings to change it or withdraw consent. Withdrawing stops future collection and removes our Analytics cookies from this browser; it does not delete information already collected.

What we send

We send page categories and page views. We remove query strings, unrecognised page fragments and referral details from the page information sent to Analytics. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, passwords, account identifiers, payment details, classroom entries or generated activity content to Analytics. Account and password-reset pages are excluded from visitor statistics.

Essential site functions

Sign-in, membership access and saved preferences use browser storage needed for those features. The optional statistics choice does not control these essential functions. Payments are handled through the payment provider shown at checkout.
